The impact crusher and cone crusher are both secondary crushing equipment for the sand and gravel production line. The crushing methods and applicable materials of them are different. Let's take a look at the specific differences between them:
1. The principle of the crushing method is different
The impact crusher uses impact energy to crush the material. The material is repeatedly crushed and crushed between the hammer and the impact plate. The cone crusher adopts the principle of lamination crushing. The rolling mortar wall continuously moves to the crushing wall, squeezing the material between them to crush it. Therefore, in the later operation process, if it is a high hardness material, the wear of impact crusher is greater.
2. Different scope of application
The crushing principle of them feels that the hardness of the applicable materials is different. In general, cone crusher is suitable for crushing high-hardness rocks and metal ores such as granite, basalt, river pebbles, iron ore, gold ore, and impact crusher is suitable for crushing low-hardness stones such as limestone and calcite.
3. Different processing capacity

4. Different input costs
The investment in the early stage of cone crusher is relatively large, but the maintenance cost in the late stage of impact crusher is higher. If it crush hard rock, from a long-term perspective, cone crusher is more cost-effective than impact crusher.
